The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is planning a serious and major retaliation to Iran’s attack and hopes for assistance from partners in the region, the Israeli Army Radio broadcaster reported on Saturday, citing sources familiar with the matter.

“It will be serious and significant, we are in the training center and we are doing this most of the time. This will have consequences for Iran, and they should understand this,” the source was quoted as saying.

Israel expects to receive support in its offensive operations from regional partners, the IDF radio said.

US media previously reported that Israel had warned Washington of the possibility of strikes against Iran’s nuclear and oil infrastructurefollowing Iran’s missile strike on Israel. However, the Financial Times newspaper reported on Thursday that Israel was not considering launching strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities and that the US was also against such an attack.

Western Nations Urge Israel to Avoid Striking Iran’s Oil Sites, Fearing Global Economic Chaos

Key Western nations see a strike on Iran as likely inevitable but believe Israel has yet to finalize the attack’s details. The U.S. worries that targeting Iran’s oil reserves could boost energy prices and spark a regional war, especially with the presidential election approaching

Company targeted 12 to 18 year-olds through WhatsApp with payments of Β£1,500

Moderna has been rebuked by regulators after offering children cash to test the Covid vaccine.

The pharmaceutical company was ordered to pay Β£14,000 after it emerged that a representative had sent a WhatsApp message offering Β£1,500 to children to take part in Covid booster trials.

The UK Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) ruled that the offer amounted to β€œinappropriate financial inducement” and found the company had brought β€œdiscredit upon the pharmaceutical industry”.

The offer was made by a paediatrician from an unnamed NHS trust, inviting those aged between 12 and 18 years old to enrol in the NextCove trial, which was examining the efficacy of Moderna’s booster jab.

The inducement was made even though a research ethics committee had warned about the β€œlarge amount of money” that Moderna was offering participants, and voiced concern it was β€œmuch higher than would be considered a reasonable reimbursement”.

It is time for real transparency in clinical research.Β

The PMCPA ruling against Moderna is another reminder of an all-powerful pharmaceutical industry, able to breach the rules without fear of meaningful or timely repercussions.
