The American pharmaceutical company Pfizer has had to deal with collapsed turnover and profit in the past financial year.

This was because there was much less demand for Pfizer’s vaccine against the coronavirus. A pill against the lung virus from Pfizer also sold much less well now that the corona pandemic is over.

Sales of Pfizer’s corona vaccine fell by more than half compared to 2022.

This was mainly because the US government purchased fewer doses. The pharmaceutical group also sold much less of Paxlovid, a pill that reduces the symptoms of Covid. In the fourth quarter there was even a negative turnover from corona pills, because the US government returned millions of doses..

Total turnover fell by 45 percent to 50.9 billion dollars (47 billion euros). The company subsequently recorded a profit of $2.1 billion, which is 93 percent less than a year earlier.

Decreased Customer Loyalty: When trust is lost, customers may become skeptical and hesitant to continue doing business with the company. They may switch to competitors, resulting in a loss of market share. It can be challenging to regain customer loyalty once it’s lost.

Negative Reputation: Word spreads quickly in today’s interconnected world. If a company loses trust, it can quickly develop a negative reputation. Negative news, reviews, or experiences shared by customers or the media can harm the company’s brand image and make it more difficult to attract new customers or clients.

Financial Impact: Declining customer trust can lead to a decrease in sales and revenue. Shareholders may lose confidence, leading to a drop in stock price. This can make it harder for the company to secure funding or raise capital.

Legal and Regulatory Consequences: Depending on the circumstances, loss of trust may result in legal challenges, such as lawsuits or investigations by regulatory bodies. Violations of laws, unethical behavior, or breach of trust can have serious legal and financial consequences for a company like Pfizer.</.

The incident occurred close to an American base on the country’s southwestern coast

An American F-16 fighter jet has crashed in the waters near South Korea, the US military has confirmed. The incident marks the third time a US war plane has gone down in the region in less than a year.

A fighter pilot was forced to abandon the jet and ejected from the aircraft early Wednesday morning, with the F-16 falling into waters off the coast of Gunsan, South Korea, near Washington’s Kunsan Air Base, Yonhap reported.

β€œInformation on the cause of the in-flight emergency will not be made available until the conclusion of thorough safety and accident investigations,” said Col. Matthew C. Gaetke, 8th Fighter Wing commander.

β€œWe are very thankful to the Republic of Korea rescue forces and all of our teammates who made the swift recovery of our pilot possible,” said Col. Matthew Gaetke, 8th Fighter Wing commander, in a statement. β€œNow we will shift our focus to search and recovery of the aircraft.”

Asteroid nearly the size of Taipei 101 will pass Earth at end of week

The Taipei Astronomical Museum issued a press release saying an asteroid with a diameter roughly the size of Taipei 101 will pass closest to Earth at 10:40 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 2).

NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has named it Asteroid 2008 OS7, which will pass at a distance of 2,850,000 km, traveling at a speed of 18.2 kilometers per second. There is little to no chance that the asteroid will hit the Earth.

Close Approaches: Over time, 2008 OS7 has made several close approaches to Earth. For example, on July 20, 1964, it had a close encounter at a distance of about 0.034 astronomical units (AU), which is around 5 million kilometers (3 million miles) away.

Future Observations: Astronomers continue to monitor 2008 OS7 and other near-Earth asteroids to refine their orbits and better understand their properties.

Joe Biden is weighing up launching strikes on Iranian military assets in the Persian Gulf after three Americans were killed in Jordan by a Tehran-backed drone.

The president has demanded advisors present him with options on how to respond to the attack without dragging the US into battle in the Middle East, Politico reports.

Insiders revealed any revenge bombings will taken place in the coming days as the commander-in-chief and military brass study a range of targets.

President Joe Biden believes that β€œradical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq” are responsible

Three US Army soldiers were killed and over 30 service personnel were injured by an overnight drone attack on a small US outpost in Jordan, near the country’s Syrian border, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Sunday. This is the first instance of American troops being killed by enemy fire in the region since the onset of the Gaza war.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq – an umbrella group for Shia militias – claimed responsibility for the attack.

President Joe Biden has pledged to hold those accountable for the attack, attributing it toΒ β€œradical Iran-backed militant groups operating in Syria and Iraq.”

Houthi militants in Yemen claim to have fired a rocket at a US warship. In a statement shared to the press, the Shiite group, alleged to have ties to Iran, said it had targeted the US warship Lewis B Puller as it sailed through the Gulf of Aden on Sunday.
