Earlier in September during Russian Security Council’s permanent meeting, Vladimir Putin proposed to discuss updating the foundations of Russia’s state policy in the field of nuclear deterrence.

Vladimir Putin expressed hope that Western governments heard his warnings against striking deep into Russia.

β€œThey did not report to me, but, I hope, they heard [my warning],” Putin said in an interview with Russian journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Ukraine cannot independently use long-range weapons; this can only be done by specialists from NATO countries, which is why the issue is not about granting permission to Kiev to use such weapons against Russia, stated Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Wes Streeting, the Health Secretary, said achieving the world-first could reduce the β€œhuge strain” the NHS faces every winter and save taxpayers millions.

Scientists hope the new vaccine from Moderna could stop people developing the vomiting and diarrhoea bug, which often spreads in care homes and isΒ linked to around 12,000 hospital admissionsΒ in Britain every year.

The jab will enter final stages of testing within the next two weeks.

Multiple explosions have been heard in Tehran as the IDF launched a multi-wave air raid

West Jerusalem has launched a retaliatory wave of airstrikes against Tehran. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has claimed that it is only military targeting installations with its β€œprecise strikes.”

The attack comes after Iran’s October 1 strike on the Jewish state, when it fired nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in response to the killing of the Hamas and Hezbollah leaders as well as an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) general.

The IDF insisted following the strike that the majority of the projectiles had been intercepted. Tehran, however, has claimed that it was able to hit several Israeli military targets.

Following the October 1 attack, Israel threatened to deliver a β€œdeadly, pinpoint accurate, and surprising” retaliation, without specifying any time frame. Alleged details of possible Israeli targets were leaked to media last week. Tehran has pledged a β€œdecisive and regretful” response to any Israeli strikes.

Three workers have reportedly been killed at a factory in Shamsabad, south of Tehran, as a result of the Israeli strikes, unverified reports on social media claim.

Update:

Iran has condemned the Israeli attacks against its military sites as a β€œblatant violation of international law and the UN Charter, particularly the principle prohibiting the threat or use of force against the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of countries,” according to a statement issued by Tehran’s foreign ministry.

The Islamic Republic has the right to defend itself β€œagainst acts of external aggression,” it added.

Switzerland has condemned what it described as a β€œdangerous escalation of violence in the Middle East,” including the Israeli strikes against Iranian targets on Saturday.

Paris has urged the parties β€œto refrain from any escalation and action likely to aggravate the context of extreme tension prevailing in the region,” according to a statement issued by the French foreign ministry.

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said it fears an β€œexplosive escalation” after Israel’s strikes on Iran.

Iran is in high-stakes retaliation.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement, condemned Israel’s strikes as violation of international law, stressing that the country reserves the right to exercise self-defense against external aggression.

Mossad Intelligence Division head, Former Brigadier General (Res.) Amnon Sofrin: Iran has the ability to carry out a very powerful operation against “Israel”.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has urged Iran to refrain from an β€œescalatory” reaction following the Israeli strikes against targets in the Islamic Republic early on Saturday.

Wildfires broke out in the Hula Valley of northern Israel after rockets fell in open areas, the Israel Fire and Rescue Authority said.

Hezbollah said it fired five rocket barrages into Safed and Haifa in northern Israel on Saturday.

Saudi Arabia condemns Israeli strikes on Iran.

The European Union has warned both Iran and Israel against β€œuncontrollable escalation” following the IDF airstrikes.

United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres is β€œdeeply alarmed by the continued escalation in the Middle East,” his spokesperson has said in a statement following the Israeli attack against Iran.

A Missouri attorney general claims the tech giant has been β€œwaging war on the democratic process” using its search service

Google is to be investigated for allegedly manipulating its search engine to undermine the democratic process in America, the Attorney General of the state of Missouri, Andrew Bailey, declared on Thursday.

In a post on X, the Republican politician accused the company of β€œcensoring conservative speech during the most consequential election in our nation’s history” and, in doing so, of β€œwaging war on the democratic process.”

In an additional statement to Fox News, Bailey said he suspected that Google is deemphasizing information in its search results about Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

Conservative figures in the US have accused Big Tech of censoring their speech for years. Former President Trump mused earlier this month that he would push for a prosecution of Google if elected for a second term in office, for allegedly favoring the Democratic candidate, Vice President Kamala Harris.

Iran is readying for a war with Israel while at the same seeking to avoid one, The New York Times reported.

This comes as Tehran waits for Tel Aviv’s response to its October 1 ballistic missile attack on Israel. β€œIran has ordered the armed forces to be prepared for war but also to try to avoid it,” The Times wrote. The Times’ report said Iran’s Supreme Leader has ordered Iran’s armed forces to formulate numerous plans for responding to the expected Israeli retaliation. The report, citing Iranian officials, said Tehran will attack if there is significant damage or casualties.

The officials told The Times that Iran will respond if Israel targets its oil sites, nuclear facilities, or senior officials. The potential Iranian response could include an attack with up to 1,000 ballistic missiles or the disruption of energy supplies in the region. However, if Israel limits its attack to a few military targets, Iran might well do nothing, The Times’ report added. β€œIn the event of an Israeli attack, the shape of our response will be proportionate and calculated,” Iran’s foreign minister said on October 23.

Moves by major U.S. fast-food chains to temporarily scrub fresh onions off their menus on Thursday, after the vegetable was named as the likely source of an E. coli outbreak at McDonald’s(MCD.N), opens new tab, laid bare the recurring nightmare for restaurants: Produce is a bigger problem for restaurants to keep free of contamination than beef.

Onions are likely the culprit in the McDonald’s E. coli outbreak across the Midwest and some Western states that has sickened 49 people and killed one, the U.S. Department of Agriculture said late on Wednesday. The company pulled the Quarter Pounder off its menu at one-fifth of its 14,000 U.S. restaurants.

Mining has been halted by the Rwandan government as health teams work to contain the spread of the Marburg virus

Rwanda has pinpointed the source of an outbreak of the deadly Marburg virus, linking it to mining activity in a cave inhabited by fruit bats.

During a briefing on Thursday, Rwandan Health Minister Sabin Nsanzimana confirmed that the initial case of the virus, known as the β€˜index case’, likely emerged from a mining site, emphasizing the importance of minimizing human interaction with bats.

The outbreak, which began less than a month ago, has resulted in 64 confirmed cases and 15 deaths, according to aΒ report by the Rwandan Health Ministry published on X (formerly Twitter).Β Β
