Clashes between protesters and police broke out in Valencia and Madrid during large-scale demonstrations on Saturday over Spanish authoritiesβ insufficient response to deadly floods that took place across Spain several weeks ago.
At least 220 people were killed and thousands of homes and businesses were destroyed when a rapid deluge caused by heavy rains inundated several towns in the province of Valencia in eastern Spain last month. Some 80 people are still missing as a result of what officials are calling one of Europeβs worst natural disasters in decades.
Around 130,000 demonstrators took to the streets of the city of Valencia to demand the resignation of Carlos Mazon, the head of the provincial government, El Pais newspaper reported.
Moscow has ratified a bilateral strategic security treaty with Pyongyang
Russian President Vladimir Putin has finalized the ratification of a strategic partnership agreement that he and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un signed during his visit to Pyongyang in June.
The Russian State Duma, the lower chamber of parliament, unanimously approved the treaty late last month, and the upper house, the Federation Council, did the same on November 6. Putin gave his final stamp of approval on Saturday, according to the official portal of the countryβs legislature.
The document signed by the Russian president, dated November 9, ratifies the βComprehensive Partnership Agreement between the Russian Federation and the Democratic Peopleβs Republic of Korea, signed in Pyongyang on June 19, 2024.β The treaty will officially come into force once Moscow and Pyongyang exchange the instruments of ratification.
US President-elect Donald Trump has ruled out reappointing two senior figures from his first administration
US President-elect Donald Trump has said he will not ask former Republican presidential contender Nikki Haley or former secretary of state Mike Pompeo to join his administration.
The two prominent figures have criticized Trump in the past, but endorsed him in his 2024 election campaign.
In a social media post on Saturday, Trump wrote that he would not be inviting Haley or Pompeo βto join the Trump Administration which is currently in formation,β adding: βI very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country.β

All experiments should be conducted by persons qualified to do so. Through all stages of the experiment, all possible efforts should be taken to ensure the highest degree of skill and care are maintained.
At any point during the experiment, every human subject should be permitted to bring the experimentation to an end should the subject deem that they have reached the point where continuation of the experiment appears to the subject to no longer be possible.
As the experiment progresses, the scientist in charge must be in a state of mind that, should they deem that the continuation of the experiment could result in injury, disability, or death to the subject, the experiment will be terminated.

Chinese authorities have detained Leon Wang, AstraZeneca’s Executive Vice President of International and President of China.
