Severe floods in Spain have resulted in over 211 deaths, with hopes fading for those still missing, particularly in Valencia.

The catastrophic weather has devastated the region, leading to widespread destruction and loss of life. Emergency services continue their search efforts as the community grapples with the aftermath of the disaster, facing significant challenges in recovery and rebuilding.

Spain’s AEMET weather center in Valencia warned of heavy rainfall at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, raising the alert level to red in some areas and warning residents to stay off the roads in case of floods.

By 10:30 a.m., firefighters in interior towns like Llombai were rescuing people from the floods. AEMET warned residents to be vigilant, even if there was little rainfall in their areas, as ravines and gullies were quickly filling with water streaming down from the mountains toward the sea.

The United States said on Friday it will deploy B-52 bombers, fighter jets, refueling aircraft and Navy destroyers to the Middle East, in a readjustment of military assets as the Abraham Lincoln carrier strike group prepares to leave the region.

The Pentagon said in a statement that deployments would take place in the coming months and demonstrated the flexibility of the U.S. military movements around the world.

“Both sides reaffirmed their firm commitment to fully implement the provisions of the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which consolidated the reaching of traditionally friendly Russian-Korean relations to a new qualitative level,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement following the consultations between Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his North Korean counterpart, Choe Son Hui.

A Central Texas news anchor’s sudden death has left viewers, co-workers, and family members heartbroken.

Radcliffe, an NBC affiliate KCEN 6 News anchor, was just 51 years old when he unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday.

He worked at the station for 22 years.

Radcliffe’s devasted co-anchor paid tribute to the much-loved local TV personality on-air shortly after learning about the shocking death.

Earlier, in an interview with journalist Tucker Carlson, Donald Trump strongly denied Democrats’ claims that he has ties with Russia, recalling that he blocked the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.

The construction of all strings of the Nord Stream gas pipeline was completed; therefore, statements by US presidential candidate Donald Trump about the destruction of the Nord Stream 2 pipeline at the construction stage are unclear, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing, answering a question from TASS.

“Nord Stream was eventually completed. Moreover, one string of Nord Stream 2 is intact, and at any moment, as the President [of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin] said, it is ready to be launched,” the Kremlin spokesman stated. “It is very difficult to guess what Mr. Trump meant,” Peskov added, suggesting addressing “the election headquarters of this candidate” for clarification.

Officials in Tehran have vowed a military response to the strikes West Jerusalem carried out last Saturday

Tehran is planning to retaliate for last week’s Israeli bombing of Iran before the US presidential election on November 5, media outlets reported on Wednesday and Thursday, citing anonymous sources.

In the latest escalation in the Middle East, Israel conducted a series of strikes against targets in Iran last Saturday. The attack was in response to a massive barrage of missiles fired by Iran at the Jewish state in early October – which was in retaliation for the killing of Hezbollah and Iranian commanders. In an escalating spiral of violence, the two states have exchanged direct attacks several times this year.

A number of US news outlets have hinted that Iran’s response could come within days. 

“The response of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the aggression of the Zionist regime will be definitive and painful,”CNN wrote on Wednesday, citing a senior source familiar with Iran’s deliberations. The news network did not say which country the source is from.
