Just In: AnNa R., singer of the band Rosenstolz, has died.

The band announced this on their Instagram page. The death was “sudden and unexpected,” according to the statement. The exact cause of death is not yet known. The singer’s management confirmed the death.

The Instagram post reads: “AnNa R. is dead. The sudden, unexpected end of our friend and “queen” shocks and confuses us deeply. Throughout her life, AnNa self-modestly called herself a “pop mouse.”

In fact, she was much more: With her unique voice, her presence, and her songs, she remained a constant companion to countless people since the founding of Rosenstolz. She still had many musical plans when she passed away in Berlin at the age of 55. May her message of empathy and classless philanthropy reach far and wide.

That would have been AnNa’s wish. With deep love and gratitude. Manne & Frank”

With Peter Plate she formed one of the most successful German pop duos of the last decades as a rose pride. Concerts were announced for the fall.

Emilie Dequenne, the actress best known for her titular role in the movie Rosetta, has died. She was 43.

Dequenne’s longtime agent, Danielle Gain, informed the news agency AFP that the Belgian actress had died at a hospital on the outskirts of Paris, France on the evening of Sunday, March 16, Deadline reported. Her tragic death comes less than two years after she revealed her rare adrenal gland cancer diagnosis in October 2023.

“Quelle injustice!! You have been an example to us all, with your extraordinary strength, your courage,” Dequenne’s press representative Charlotte Tourret wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of the actress at the 76th Cannes Festival and a playful video.

“You are an inspiring woman, a great soul, a great actress, I remember your smiling eyes and your light. I love you forever my Emily 🕊️Milla, Michel, Danielle, Isabelle… I’m thinking about you so much,” Tourret added.

The attacks come just one day after US President Donald Trump ordered airstrikes on the group’s stronghold territories in Yemen.

The Houthis announced that they launched an attack comprising of 18 ballistic and cruise missiles, along with drones, targeting the USS Harry S Truman aircraft carrier and its accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea on Sunday. 

Houthi military spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree stated that the attack was a response to more than 47 US airstrikes – ordered by US President Donald Trump – on rebel-controlled areas in Yemen, including the capital Sanaa and the province of Saada, which borders Saudi Arabia.

“The Yemeni Armed Forces will not hesitate to target all American warships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea in retaliation for the aggression against our country,” Saree declared.

Both Washington and the Houthis have warned of further escalation following the US airstrikes, which aimed to deter the rebels from attacking military and commercial vessels in one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes.

Rob de Nijs has passed away. The singer from Bennekom who was born in Amsterdam suffered from Parkinson’s disease and died at the age of 82.

This was reported by the producer of the musical about his life. Rob de Nijs’ career spans about sixty years. He scored one number 1 listing in the record charts, in 1996 with Banger Hart. He became known to the general public with the song Ritme van de regen in 1963.

He scored that hit with the band Rob de Nijs en de Lords. De Nijs also did television work. Who doesn’t remember the popular series in the early seventies Can you tell me the way to Hamelin, sir? This youth series had 45 episodes that ran from 1972 to 1976 and was based on The Pied Piper of Hamelin. More than 120 songs were sung in this series.

Raphael Glucksmann has claimed that Americans “apparently despise” the gift which symbolizes freedom

French Member of the European Parliament Raphael Glucksmann has urged the United States to return the Statue of Liberty, claiming that recent policy shifts under President Donald Trump contradict the fundamental values the monument represents.

The Statue of Liberty, designed by French sculptor Frederic Auguste Bartholdi and built by Gustave Eiffel, was given to the US to commemorate the centennial of American independence. Since 1886, it has stood in New York Harbor as a symbol of freedom and a beacon for immigrants seeking a better life.
