Singer Michael Bolton is opening up about his battle with brain cancer.

The Grammy-winning singer best known for his hit song, “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You,” spoke to People in an exclusive interview about his fight with glioblastoma, which he was diagnosed with in 2023.

Glioblastoma is a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer, according to the National Institutes of Health.

In the months after his diagnosis, he described it as, “You’re reaching into your resources and your resolve in a way that you never would have thought.”

“Succumbing to the challenge is not an option. You’re quickly drawn into a duel,” Bolton told People for the latest issue, available on newsstands Friday. “I guess that’s the way you find out what you’re made of.”

Tensions rise have risen since last week’s deadly terrorist attack in Kashmir

Pakistan has alleged that India is planning a military strike on its territory, signaling a further escalation in tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

“Pakistan has credible intelligence that India intends to launch a military strike within the next 24 to 36 hours, using the Pahalgam incident as a false pretext,” Islamabad’s Information Minister Attaullah Tarar wrote on X on Tuesday evening.

“Any act of aggression will be met with a decisive response. India will be fully responsible for any serious consequences in the region,” Tarar added.

His statement came after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave his country’s armed forces “full operational freedom” to determine the mode, targets, and timing of a response to the recent terrorist attack in India’s Jammu and Kashmir union territory, which left 26 people dead, mostly tourists.

New Delhi has linked the terrorist attack to Pakistan, reiterating long-standing accusations that its neighbor supports cross-border terrorism and insurgencies.

Update:

Pakistan PM has given the Army the power to do a pre emptive strike on targets that are an imminent threat if necessary.

Pakistan has started mobilizing its Army along its border with India and has kept its Navy on standby as tensions continue to mount between the two countries, sources told India Today.

Tensions have been rising between the nuclear-armed neighbors following a deadly terrorist attack in Kashmir

Pakistan is expecting an Indian military incursion following last week’s deadly attack in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir region, Pakistan’s defense minister told Reuters on Monday.

On April 22, militants gunned down 26 tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir. The attack has triggered outrage across Hindu-majority India and led to calls for swift action against Muslim-majority Pakistan.

Speaking to Reuters, Pakistani Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said the country’s military is ready to face the mounting threats.

“We have reinforced our forces because it is something which is imminent now. So in that situation some strategic decisions have to be taken, so those decisions have been taken,” Asif said.

According to Asif, Pakistan’s military has briefed the government about the possibility of an Indian attack. However, he did not provide further specifics regarding the intelligence underlying his assessment.

Moderna could face suspension from Britain’s pharmaceutical trade body following a string of breaches of the regulatory code. The Telegraph

The Covid vaccine maker is due to be audited by the Prescription Medicines Code of Practice Authority (PMCPA) over “unacceptable” practices that brought discredit upon the industry.

If found to be lacking adequate compliance systems, Moderna could ultimately be suspended or expelled from the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (APBI).

It follows several code breaches, including representatives of the company offering children £1,500 and teddy bears to take part in Covid vaccine trials.

In a fresh ruling, which is expected to be published in the coming days, the company was also found to have misled regulators about when it first became aware of the financial incentives to children.

Moderna claimed it had taken action as soon as it was notified about the cash offer by the Health Research Agency in January 2024, but it has now emerged that senior executives were informed in August 2023 by the campaign group UsForThem, yet failed to take action.

Under the Medicines for Human Use (Clinical Trials) regulations, it is prohibited for incentives or financial inducements to be given to children or their parents.

The PMCPA ruled the company had shown a lack of transparency that was “completely unacceptable” and brought discredit upon the industry.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen’s track record as a politician is marred by a number of scandals.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, for example, she made a deal with US pharmaceutical giant Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla to buy 1.8 billion doses of then-untested COVID vaccines worth about $37.6 billion.

Diplomats view European Commission President von der Leyen as “toxic,” asserting that her resignation could help “unblock many issues”, according to Switzerland’s Die Weltwoche weekly.

The EU is currently embroiled in a crisis marked by internal divisions, a trade dispute with the United States, and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, among other things, the publication notes.
