"Dear all, yesterday our world was completely turned upside down. We were told that Freek was diagnosed with metastatic lung cancer," the couple wrote with a photo on social media. "Because of these metastases, there is no chance of recovery. We are completely devastated, it feels so unfair. We have been inseparable for 18 years and together we still have so many beautiful things to live for. At the end of this year we hope to welcome our child together.
“We will continue to enjoy the time we have together for as long as possible, even though we do not know how long that will be,” it continues. “We will therefore stop performing immediately and will cease all our activities.
We would like to ask for peace and privacy for us and our families and friends in this difficult time. We will continue to hold on to each other.
