Trump wrote on Truth Social on Friday that his meeting with Putin will take place in Alaska on August 15. Kremlin aide Yury Ushakov later confirmed this information.
US Senator for Alaska Lisa Murkowski has expressed hope that the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in her state will help achieve peace in Ukraine.
“This is another opportunity for the Arctic to serve as a venue that brings together world leaders to forge meaningful agreements. While I remain deeply wary of Putin and his regime, I hope these discussions lead to genuine progress and help end the war on equitable terms,” Murkowski said on X on Friday.
