NASA’s two stuck astronauts have been given more bad news as their space mission is extended again and are now not expected back until spring.Β

Astronauts Butch Wilmore, 61, and Suni Williams, 58, left the International Space Station in June and expected to return home just eight days later.

However, their mission grew months longer after NASA decided to send the company’s faulty Starliner capsule back empty in September.

NASA has now announced their mission has been pushed back again, as their relief team has been delayed another month, and their expected return would mark ten months since they left Earth.Β

The next crew of four was supposed to launch in February, followed by Wilmore and Williams’ return home at the end of the month alongside two other astronauts.

However, the most recent announcement said that SpaceX needs more time to prepare the brand-new capsule for liftoff and it’s now scheduled no earlier than late March.

NASA said that it considered using a different SpaceX capsule to fly up the replacement crew to keep the flights on schedule, but decided they would wait for the new capsule.

Earlier this year, at their 60-day mark, many fans reacted to the horror of the situation on social media and described the delay as ‘torture’.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov was one of two victims of the explosion near a residential building.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov, head of Russia’s Radiological, Chemical, and Biological Defense Forces, has been killed along with his deputy in a bomb blast in southeastern Moscow early on Tuesday, officials have confirmed.

The explosion occurred around 6am outside a residential building on Ryazansky Avenue as Kirillov and his aide were leaving the premises to board an official vehicle.

Russian investigators said an improvised explosive device (IED) packed with about 300 grams of TNT was likely attached to an electric scooter near the building’s entrance. It was possibly detonated remotely, likely by a radio signal or mobile phone.

The continued support for Ukraine is aimed at inflicting a β€œstrategic defeat” on Moscow, the president has said

The West’s support for Ukraine is pushing Russia to the point where it cannot help but retaliate, President Vladimir Putin has said, while warning the US against deploying medium-range missiles.

Speaking at a meeting of top Defense Ministry officials on Monday, Putin accused the US of seeking β€œto weaken our country and inflict a strategic defeat” on Russia by continuing β€œto pump a de facto illegitimate ruling regime in Kiev with weapons and money, sending mercenaries and military advisers, thereby encouraging further escalation of the conflict.”

Washington is putting fear in Americans by resorting to β€œsimple tactics,” Putin stated. β€œThey push us to the red line… we begin to respond, and then they frighten their population,” he added, suggesting that the US used the same approach during its rivalry with the Soviet Union.

A”psyop”, or psychological operation, is a strategic action, typically undertaken by a military or governmental organization, aimed at influencing the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and, ultimately, the behavior of foreign governments, organizations, groups, or individuals.

Psyops can be used in peace, conflict, or war. They can be used to spread misinformation, foster discord, undermine morale, promote specific political or social viewpoints, or otherwise manipulate a group’s behaviors and beliefs to achieve the operation’s objectives. These techniques may use mediums such as leaflets, radio broadcasts, social media, and local influencers to spread the messages.

It’s also important to note that the ethicality and legality of psyops can be highly contentious, and are governed by both international and domestic laws in different countries.

The two ships had 29 crew members on board when calls for help were issued, the Russian Emergency Ministry has said

Two tankers carrying oil products are sinking in the Kerch Strait, the passage that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov, according to the Russian Emergency Ministry.

The Volganeft 212 and the Volganeft 239 sent out distress signals and requested assistance amid high winds and powerful waves. The Russian water transport agency has said a total of 29 crew members were on board the two vessels.

According to Russian media reports, powerful waves struck the tankers several kilometers off the Black Sea coast. The Volganeft 212, carrying more than 4,000 tons of fuel oil, has run aground, and the Volgoneft 239 is drifting after sustaining damage.

A U.S. senator has called for mysterious drones spotted flying at night over sensitive areas in New Jersey and other parts of the Mid-Atlantic region to be β€œshot down, if necessary,” even as it remains unclear who owns the unmanned aircraft.

β€œWe should be doing some very urgent intelligence analysis and take them out of the skies, especially if they’re flying over airports or military bases,” Sen. Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut said Thursday, as concerns about the drones spread across Capitol Hill.

People in the New York region are also concerned that the drones may be sharing airspace with commercial airlines, he said, demanding more transparency from the Biden administration.

“Russia is preparing for long-term confrontation, with Ukraine and with us,” Mark Rutte said, adding: “We are not ready for what is coming our way in four to five years.”

The head of NATO has warned the alliance is not ready for the threats it will face from Russia in the coming years and that it is time to shift to a wartime mindset.

Mark Rutte, the secretary general of the organisation, said NATO members had spent more than 3% of GDP on defence during the Cold War and argued future spending would have to be much higher than the alliance’s current target of 2%.

There is something strange happening in the skies above New Jersey, and no one seems quite sure what to make of it β€” not the governor, not members of Congress, not the FBI.

What they know is that starting in mid-November, dozens of identified drones have been spotted at night flying in at least 10 different counties across the state. What they don’t know is where the drones are coming from, who’s flying them and why.

The drones have been spotted above critical infrastructure, according to authorities, including reservoirs, electric transmission lines, rail stations, police departments and military installations.
