A sizable world has been found in a part of the solar system that astronomers once thought to be empty. It probably qualifies as a dwarf planet, the same classification as Pluto.

Temporarily named 2017 OF201, it takes more than 24,000 years to travel around the sun just once along a highly elliptical orbit, coming as close as 4.2 billion miles and moving as far out as 151 billion miles. (Neptune is just 2.8 billion miles from the sun.)

And 2017 OF201 may have implications for the hypothesis of an undiscovered planet, nicknamed Planet Nine, in the outer reaches of the solar system.

“We discovered a very large trans-Neptunian object in a very exotic orbit,” said Sihao Cheng, a researcher at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, N.J.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s decision to supply Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine may widen the Russia-Ukraine conflict to the whole of Europe and potentially start a new world war, Bolivian geopolitical and security analyst Jose Hugo Moldiz Mercado told Sputnik.

“The German chancellor’s authorization for strikes against the Russian territory from Ukraine is an indirect German interference from a military perspective and a direct interference from a political perspective, which is aimed at widening the conflict to span the continent.

And that is, obviously, a great risk not only for Europe or Eurasia, but for the entire world, because there is only one step left to a possible World War III,” the expert said.

Hugo Moldiz said Russia was “defending its territory and the right of nations to self-determination,” arguing that many Russian-speaking people in Ukraine wanted to live in Russia again.

Venus is concealing at least three city-killer asteroids that could strike Earth in weeks without warning, potentially wreaking havoc upon our planet before we can react.

“Twenty co-orbital asteroids [space rocks in the orbit of two celestial bodies] of Venus are currently known,” the authors warned in the arockcalyptic study, which was published in the journal “Astronomy & Astrophysics.”

The international research team, led by Valerio Carruba of São Paulo University in Brazil, wrote that at least three of the asteroids — 2020 SB, 524522 and 2020 CL1 — that circle the sun in tandem with our twin planet have unstable orbits that take them dangerously close to Earth, the Daily Mail reported.

“Co-orbital status protects these asteroids from close approaches to Venus, but it does not protect them from encountering Earth,” the researchers warned, according to the Daily Galaxy.

Carruba & Co. came to this conclusion by using imitation space rocks to simulate a range of possible outcomes over 36,000 years, finding that there is a sizable population of low-eccentricity asteroids — those previously thought to be harmless — that could be propelled toward Earth via gravitational shifts and other factors.

The Trump administration cancelled more than $700 million award to Moderna to develop an mRNA vaccine for bird flu in humans, the company announced Wednesday. It has also cancelled the right to purchase shots, according to the drugmaker.

In January, Moderna was awarded $590 million by the Biden administration to advance the development of its bird flu vaccine, and support the expansion of clinical studies for up to five additional subtypes of pandemic influenza.

This was in addition to the $176 million granted last year by the US Department of Health and Human Services for the advanced development and testing of a pre-pandemic mRNA vaccine targeting H5N1 avian influenza, Moderna announced plans to consider alternative options .

Over 3.5 million m³ of ice, rock, and snow collapsed from the Birch Glacier, putting 9 million tons of pressure on the glacier.

The entire village of Blatten (approx. 300 people) was evacuated in advance. A major collapse on May 28 caused a pressure wave felt kilometers away.

Debris breached protective dams; damage to buildings in the village is likely. The glacier is moving at 10 meters per day — further collapses expected. Authorities declared a state of emergency; return to the village remains uncertain.

Experts warn: Partial burial of Blatten is still a real possibility.

President Donald Trump asserted that many “bad things” would have befallen Russia if it were not for him, warning that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “playing with fire!”

“What Vladimir Putin doesn’t realize is that if it weren’t for me, lots of really bad things would have already happened to Russia, and I mean REALLY BAD.

He’s playing with fire!” Trump declared in the Truth Social post. FOX News reports, the tweet was responded to by Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia and former Russian president, in another social media post on Tuesday.

“Regarding Trump’s words about Putin ‘playing with fire’ and ‘really bad things’ happening to Russia. I only know of one REALLY BAD thing — WWIII. I hope Trump understands this!” Medvedev wrote.

47 countries of the Western World,> 3, 098, 456 Excess mortality 2021, 42 countries 2022, 43 countries Conclusions Excess mortality has remained high in the Western World for three consecutive years

This raises serious concerns. Government leaders and policymakers need to thoroughly investigate underlying causes of persistent excess mortality. 2015–2019 compared to 2020–2024

Causality may be adjudicated by larger scale associations, consistent between countries, where other explanations are unlikely, where effect follows cause, where greater exposure causes more harm with a plausible biological mechanism with coherence between bench science and epidemiological data supported by (even limited) experimentation. By analogy to other causes of harm and sometimes by reversibility.
