The Siniya refinery was reopened in 2017 after damages caused by Daesh* terrorists had been repaired. It has a capacity of 20,000 barrels per day.
Daesh* has claimed responsibility for the attack on an oil refinery in Iraq, a statement released by the group says.
Two Katyusha rockets were used in the attack, the statement added.
Earlier in the day, Sky News Arabiya reported that a rocket hit an oil refinery in northern Iraq, causing a fire.
