Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, after taking a few swipes at former President Donald Trump to get some publicity, will formally announce she is running for president and will officially throw her hat in the ring for the Republican nomination on February 15 according to multiple media reports.
The Post and Courier saw an invitation to her kickoff event: βAccording to an invitation soon going out to her backers, Haleyβs advertised βspecial announcementβ will come Feb. 15 at The Shed at the Charleston Visitor Center, a downtown gathering spot that could draw hundreds of supporters into the heart of the cityβs tourism district. The confirmation she is entering the race came Jan. 31 from a member of Haleyβs inner circle.β
