A”psyop”, or psychological operation, is a strategic action, typically undertaken by a military or governmental organization, aimed at influencing the emotions, motives, objective reasoning, and, ultimately, the behavior of foreign governments, organizations, groups, or individuals.

Psyops can be used in peace, conflict, or war. They can be used to spread misinformation, foster discord, undermine morale, promote specific political or social viewpoints, or otherwise manipulate a group’s behaviors and beliefs to achieve the operation’s objectives. These techniques may use mediums such as leaflets, radio broadcasts, social media, and local influencers to spread the messages.

It’s also important to note that the ethicality and legality of psyops can be highly contentious, and are governed by both international and domestic laws in different countries.

Two tankers carrying oil products are sinking in the Kerch Strait, the passage that connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Azov, according to the Russian Emergency Ministry.

The Volganeft 212 and the Volganeft 239 sent out distress signals and requested assistance amid high winds and powerful waves. The Russian water transport agency has said a total of 29 crew members were on board the two vessels.
