The Biden administration on Tuesday asked for a delay in releasing data on reactions to COVID-19 vaccines, according toΒ Just the News.

In a motion filed with a district court, the Department of Justice and the Department of Health and Human Services reportedly asked for an 18-month stay for a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request by the outlet. The request was reportedly to obtain data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

FOIA requires government agencies to release requested information unless it negatively effects interests like personal privacy, national security and law enforcement.

Just the News alleges there was a private, β€œback-end” database connected to VAERS, which tries to detect safety problems in U.S.-licensed vaccines. The purported private database has information on vaccine recipients’ deaths, recoveries and formal diagnoses, according to the outlet.
