Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov discussed with guests on his evening television show which NATO countries Russian nuclear weapons should target, even proposing a viewer competition to decide the city that should get hit first.

Solovyov, and his guests who appear on the Russia 1 channel, frame Moscow’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine as a proxy war with the West and over the two years of the conflict, have repeatedly called for nuclear strikes against Kyiv’s allies.

NATO is preparing for new wars, and drills conducted by the alliance in Europe increase tensions in the world, Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev said on Thursday.

The joint drills of NATO armed forces in Europe called Steadfast Defender 2024, during which the scenario of armed confrontation with Russia is being worked out, will certainly increase tensions and destabilize the situation in the world,” Patrushev said during a meeting on security in North Caucasus.

NATO plans to increase its presence in the Arctic and Asia-Pacific, Patrushev added.

Nikolay Patrushev pointed also out that “the exercises of NATO’s armed forces in Europe codenamed Steadfast Defender 2024, during which the scenario of an armed confrontation with Russia is being worked out, undoubtedly increase tension and destabilize the situation in the world”

Facebook and Instagram are down. This is evident from various reports and data from DownDetector. It is still unclear what is going on.

Thousands of users have been logged out of their Facebook accounts this afternoon.

And upon attempting to re-login, Facebook is insisting that it does not recognise the user’s password – even after changing it.

Hundreds of users have flooded Down Detector with reports of outages on Facebook.

And users of Instagram – which is owned by Facebook parent company Meta – have also reported issues regarding search functions and other functions in the app.

Neither Facebook or Instagram have released statements as of yet to outline what the problem is with the sites.

Update:

Meta says it’s looking into a global Facebook, Instagram outages.

Other Meta services, such as Workplace and WhatsApp for companies, have also been disrupted. The same goes for the Ads Manager, where people can place ads. The status page to see which Meta services are still up and running is also partly down.

In the meantime YouTube is also having some server issues.
