Phillip Buckhaults, a cancer genomics expert, and professor at the University of South Carolina has testified before a South Carolina Senate Medical Affairs Ad-Hoc Committee saying that Pfizer’s mRNA vaccine is contaminated with billions of tiny DNA fragments.

Buckhaults, who has a PhD in biochemistry and molecular biology, said β€œthere is a very real hazard” that these fragments of foreign DNA can insert themselves into a person’s own genome and become a β€œpermanent fixture of the cell.”

He said it’s a plausible mechanism for what might be β€œcausing some of the rare but serious side effects like death from cardiac arrest” in people following mRNA vaccination.

Buckhaults is not an alarmist and has been reluctant to go public with his findings for fear of frightening people.

He himself was vaccinated three times with Pfizer’s covid vaccine and recommended it to family and friends. He described the mRNA platform technology as β€œrevolutionary” and said the vaccine has saved many lives.

β€œI’m a real fan of this platform,” Buckhaults told the Senate. β€œI think it has the potential to treat cancers, I really believe that this platform is revolutionary. In your lifetime, there will be mRNA vaccines against antigens in your unique cancer. But they’ve got to get this problem fixed.”

Poland may cut its support for Ukraine in its conflict with Russia over the growing grain dispute between the two Eastern European countries, Szymon Szynkowski vel Sek, Warsaw’s minister for EU affairs, has said.

Asked to comment on Warsaw’s decision to extend its embargo on Ukrainian grain despite the EU lifting the restriction, the minister told PAP news agency on Tuesday that Poland would be β€œrelentless” on the matter.

Szynkowski vel Sek claimed that Kiev’s pushback over the dispute β€œharms Ukraine itself,” as it makes β€œa certain impression on Polish public opinion” and affects the level of support for continued military and economic assistance.

The minister added that while Warsaw wants to continue to back Ukraine, there should be public support.Β β€œIf there is no support for such actions from Poles, it will be difficult for us to continue supporting Ukraine in the same way as we have been doing so far.”

Germany continues to grapple with challenges in its manufacturing sector as it suffers from higher energy costs, Goldman Sachs economist Peter Oppenheimer told CNBC on Tuesday.

The EU’s largest economy officially slipped into a technical recession in the first quarter of the year as GDP growth was revised from zero to -0.3%. The Bundesbank announced on Monday that the economy is likely to shrink this quarter thanks to slow private consumption and the increasing weakness of industry.

β€œThe predicament that the economy is facing at the moment is really down to a number of factors,” said Oppenheimer, who is chief global equity strategist and head of macro research EMEA at Goldman Sachs.

β€œIt’s… not a deep recession but it’s obviously been more hit by obvious headwinds,” he added.

Azerbaijan launched β€œcounter-terrorism measures of a local nature” in Nagorno-Karabakh on Tuesday, accusing Armenia of amassing troops in the disputed region. Yerevan has denied fielding any troops in the area, which is de jure considered to be part of Azerbaijan.

Armenia accused its neighbor of startingΒ β€œanother large-scale aggression against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh” and alleged Baku is seekingΒ to subject the region, predominantly populated by ethnic Armenians, toΒ β€œethnic cleansing.”

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry stated that its militaryΒ β€œsuccessfully continued” theΒ β€œanti-terrorist activities” in Nagorno-Karabakh. It claimed that Baku’s forces had neutralized combat positions, military vehicles, artillery and anti-aircraft missile launchers, radio-electronic combat stations, and other military equipment belonging to Armenia. Yerevan has denied having any armed formations in the disputed region.
