Amid tensions, smoke bombs and chants, the procession in support of the Palestinian cause took place in Rome. Clashes between protesters and police occurred in the squareΒ Aldo Moro, when the students attempted to force a blockade of the police in riot gear, to reach the youth right-wing rally in via Palermo. In the afternoon, in fact, the procession of around 300 university students left from Sapienza University to reach the protest meeting point in the square.Β Vittorio Emanuele II. It was during the journey that tensions arose which then degenerated into truncheons and pushes. University students chanted anti-fascist, anti-police and pro-free Palestine chants.
